Une Personne Suissesuisse.png

The « Personne Suisse » project will be the topic for the Speaking and Written French portions of your Midterm Exam. Each student will randomly select an individual, conduct research, write a description, and present about their person to the class.

Speaking Presentation Requirements:

  • The presentation will be in French and will include the information researched by the student according to the questions below that will also count as the written French portion of the midterm.
  • The quality and quantity of the reports are dependent on how much research the student does and how well the student answers the questions.
  • The visual component of the project will be a wikispace page complete with at least 3 multimedia elements on your topic (images, videos, slideshows, maps, songs, etc.)
  • Feel free to create a slideshow or a Power Point presentation and embed it into wikispaces for your presentation.
  • Your presentation must be at least one minute. You may use note cards to aid you in your presentation, but you may not READ your report. Do NOT read from your wikispace when you present.

Written & Wikispace Requirements:

  • Your wikipsace page will be divided into 2 sections: 1 for the presentation and 1 for the written grade. The presentation should be at the top and your written paragraph should be at the bottom. You may NOT use the written portion for your presentation. See the example page on the wikispace for the correct setup.
  • For the presentation you may NOT type your whole presentation on the wikispace and read it to the class. Use key words and images on the wikispace and have note cards to help you with the sentences.
  • Remember to keep it simple. All that needs to be written and reported is the information provided by the answers to the questions below. As you write your paragraph and prepare your presentation, stick to the order of the questions. As the questions are in French, use the wording in the questions to write your own sentences for the answers. Once you have them all answered, add an opening and a conclusion and you are done!
  • Do NOT use online translators to write your presentation. Use of translators to translate full sentences or paragraphs is obvious and usually incorrect. However, the use of translators as a dictionary to look up single words is usually ok. In addition, dictionaries and textbooks can be signed out from Madame.
